Inside a rounded rectangular frame, layers of shaped wood build a quiet landscape. A disc sun sits high on the left. Below it, three overlapping hills step forward one in front of the other, with a band of fine vertical slats tucked between them. Rising through it all is a branch with fifteen carved leaves, each one veined by hand.
There is no light in this piece — it relies on depth. Every layer stands proud of the one behind, so a lamp or a window gives it real shadows that shift through the day.
It hangs portrait, which makes it useful on the narrow walls where most art does not fit: beside a door, in an entryway, at the end of a hallway or between two windows.
All shaping, veining and sanding is done by hand, so the leaves differ slightly from one piece to the next.

Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Keep it off damp walls and out of long direct sunlight; wood moves a little with the seasons, which is normal. A light coat of furniture oil once a year keeps the colour rich.
