A single tall form twists as it falls, so the front face turns away from you at the top and back towards you at the bottom. Two ribbed sections are cut right through, and the light escapes between the ribs in fine warm lines.
The rest of the glow comes from behind: the piece stands off the wall and washes the plaster, which is what gives it that halo in a dark hallway. At 90 cm it reads as a sculpture first and a lamp second.
Carving this shape is slow work — the twist has to be cut, rasped and sanded by hand, and the rib spacing checked against the light before the finish goes on.
Runs from the included 12 V adaptor — no battery needed — and the warm LED dims from a soft night glow up to full brightness. If you would rather go wireless, the housing takes a standard rechargeable cell. Batteries themselves cannot be shipped by air, so buy one locally; the piece arrives with the adaptor and the battery holder fitted.

Keep it off damp walls and out of long direct sunlight; wood moves a little with the seasons, which is normal. A light coat of furniture oil once a year keeps the colour rich.
