Cut from solid Sheesham, this piece tapers to a point at both ends like a surfboard stood on end. A round hole near the top and two long curved slots lower down are cut clean through, and the light behind turns each one into a bright shape on the wall.
Sheesham is chosen here for its figure: deep browns with darker streaks that run the length of the piece. The finish is hand-rubbed oil, so it stays matte and shows the grain rather than hiding it under gloss.
At a full metre tall it suits the wall beside a bed, a bare hallway, or an office corner that needs a light and a piece of art in the same place.
Runs from the included 12 V adaptor — no battery needed — and the warm LED dims from a soft night glow up to full brightness. If you would rather go wireless, the housing takes a standard rechargeable cell. Batteries themselves cannot be shipped by air, so buy one locally; the piece arrives with the adaptor and the battery holder fitted.

Keep it off damp walls and out of long direct sunlight; wood moves a little with the seasons, which is normal. A light coat of furniture oil once a year keeps the colour rich.
