Six square canisters with close-fitting lids and small turned knobs, arranged two rows deep in a tray that tilts back slightly so the front row stays easy to reach. It is a neat answer to the spice clutter at the back of a worktop.
Each jar holds enough of a everyday spice for weeks of cooking, and the lids seal firmly enough to keep the aroma in. The set lifts out of the tray for cleaning, or comes to the table as it is for salt, pepper, chilli and sugar.
Everything is solid wood with a natural finish — nothing painted, nothing plastic. Wipe the jars clean and dry them before refilling; for wet or oily ingredients, use a small glass liner.
It looks as good on an open shelf as it does beside the hob, and it makes a practical wedding or housewarming gift.

Wipe the jars and tray with a dry or barely damp cloth and dry them fully before refilling. Do not soak them or put them in a dishwasher. Use a glass liner for oily or wet ingredients. Oil the wood once or twice a year.
