Turned and carved from a single block of Sheesham, this vase twists as it rises: four soft ridges spiral from the narrow base up to the flared rim. Because the wood is cut across the grain as the spiral turns, the figure changes completely from one face to the next.
It is a decorative vase rather than a water vase — use it for dried stems, crochet or fabric flowers, pampas or preserved branches, and it will keep its shape for years. If you want fresh flowers, stand a slim glass tube or jar inside it.
The finish is hand-rubbed oil, which brings out the deep browns of Sheesham without a plastic sheen. Each one differs; the grain is whatever that particular block gave us.
It stands well alone on a console, or in a group of three with a bowl and a stack of books.

Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not put water in the vase or leave it standing in sunlight; use a glass insert if you want fresh flowers. A little furniture oil once a year keeps the colour deep.
